What we collect

We record first-party usage events such as page visits and which creation buttons are selected. We also derive a coarse device category—Windows, Linux, Mac, phone or other—and a pseudonymous visitor identifier from the request IP address and browser signal. We do not store the raw IP address or browser user-agent for analytics.

If you request private-beta access, we store your email address, request and confirmation times, referral source, confirmation-delivery and queue status, and a one-way hashed IP signal used to prevent abuse.

Why

We use this information to measure interest in each proposed creation feature, understand the devices people want to use, verify and contact people who opted in about Latent3D, and protect the form from spam. We do not sell personal information.

Storage and retention

Analytics and waitlist information are stored in a SQLite database hosted with the site. Fastmail processes the email address and message needed to deliver confirmation and waitlist emails. We retain waitlist information while the research project is active, or until you ask us to delete information associated with you.
